Being mommy to a toddler has been so fun, crazy and I feel like I hardly ever get a second to just sit and breathe haha. It's a good feeling but it's just busy all the time. Copeland is becoming so independent and it's been so fun seeing his little personality come bursting through. I feel so fortunate that I'm able to be home with him even if it's been tough at times living on one income. There were some months along the road where our bank statement read $50.00. Yikes! Somehow we made it work (all thanks to Him), we got through it and the light at the end of the tunnel is just around the corner. Josh has less than 3 months of school left and the company he interns for has already offered him a position. It's amazing how you can be at certain stage of life and then in the blink of an eye you're off to the next chapter. I've been living the past 6 years with the mantra "Don't compare your beginning to someone else's middle." We are all on this crazy journey together. Trying to figure it all out and taking everyday one at a time. Never compare yourself to anyone else and always stay true to you.

As of late you can pretty much guarantee that I'll be in some sort of workout gear. Or sweats, you know, whatever ;) I've been doing so good with getting to the gym lately. It's been hard but sometimes I'll just make myself go, even it's 11 at night. Well until I got sick. I definitely need my rest when I catch a bug. 

I've been a little absent from social media the past few days. This week has been quite crazy. There have been a lot of things going on within my family and my heart has been so heavy. I've been trying my best to stay positive because I just don't see the point in sulking, but it's sometimes hard not to feel down, you know? I wish there was a way to help solve everything going on and to heal hurt hearts. With everything going on with my family, to top it off, the other day our kitchen sink faucet broke off and then our dishwasher flooded our kitchen. It's our fault for putting laminate down and Josh and I right then promised to put down tile in our next home. It's been a nightmare pulling up the floor and trying to figure out what's going on with the dishwasher. 

I also came down with some sort of bug and feel so yucky. The pressure in my head is so intense and all I want is to sleep or take hot baths. For you mamas you know that's kind of impossible haha. Copeland has been such a sweetheart though. He's been a little sick but not as bad off as I have been thank goodness! 

I also feel like I'm at a plateau (probably from being sick) that I cant seem to shake. It's been frustrating to say the least. I've been extremely bloated and my midsection is just not wanting to cooperate with all the planks, bicycle crunches and sit-ups! Anyone else kinda feeling like poop? Maybe it's just the stress of everything going on lately? Let's keep each other motivated, wherever we are in this journey, whatever our goals may be. We can do this!

Sweet Tea

The countdown has already started for Josh's spring break. 
We're only about 6 weeks away and I've already started thinking of a warmer 
wardrobe (don't let these pictures fool you, it was only 40 degrees out. yikes!).

Something I've been so into for quite some time are natural stones. I love the energy 
they exude and well, they are so pretty too! My mother in law is the one who stirred this 
passion inside me for them and now we have stones throughout our home, even though 
Josh isn't as into it as Copeland and I are ;)

Face Cleansing & Make-Up Routine

I'm so excited to share with you all my face wash and make-up routine!
I get a lot of emails about this so I was finally able to sit down while Copeland took a 
nap to get it all written up for you! 

Most of these products I've been using for about 10+ years. 
They are products that I just love and know work well so I know you all will love them.

Let's start with cleansing. 



1. Aveeno Ultra-Calming Moisturizer. I've been using this moisturizer for years because it's so amazing! I've tried other ones in between but always go back to this. It's not oily and not drying either, it's perfect! I use it after every face wash. It is a tad pricey, but it's so important to use a moisturizer. This one work so well with my skin. 

2. Dove Sensitive Skin Soap. I may get a lot of flack for this, but I use this soap to wash my face. I've been using it for over 10 years and have never had a problem with it. 

3. Philosophy Purity Face Wash. If you prefer not to use soap on your face, I highly recommend this face wash. I will occasionally use this and really love it! It's just a bit pricey.

4 & 6. Freeman Masks. These are two of my favorite masks! They are so refreshing you guys! I use them about twice a month, although I'm sure you could use them more than that. Whenever I feel like my skin is becoming dull or dry, I'll use one of these and my face is instantly back to a subtle, smooth and glowing pigment! Plus the fact that they are about a $1 is pretty awesome!

5. Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash. This. Is. The. Best. EVER! I've talked about this before because it's seriously so amazing! It's pricey and I have yet to find a less expensive similar product but this is worth every penny, I promise.

*I don't use any of these products near my eyes. That skin is very delicate so I just use warm water and eye-makeup remover for my eyes and the skin around them.*





1. Too faced Primed and Poreless. I have to use a primer. I just feel like it evens everything out and makes your make-up look airbrushed. This is the best one I've found and I've tried cheaper versions of primer and honestly nothing compares to this one. It's great for use under makeup or even alone to make your natural skin look perfect.

2. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser. I've been using this for quite sometime. Whenever I start running out I go into panic mode haha. I need this just to not look like a zombie everyday. I get the Brightener and it really helps cover those nasty dark circles and really just brighten up your face. 

3 & 4. NYX Stay Matte Powder Foundation. Ever since my most loved powder foundation was discontinued I've been struggling to find an alternate. Until now! Meet the NYX Powder Foundation. For bout $10 this stuff works great! It's buildable and lightweight. Love it! I use the ECOTOOLS brushes with all my powder and eyeshadow. They are so great!

5. L'oreal True Match Powder. Okay this is one of my all time favorite products. Just go read the reviews. It's another that I've been using for 10+ years. It is so blendable and stays put. It's very light and honestly it's just a really great product! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great pressed powder. 

6. ELF Blush in Pink Passion. This color may look super bright and intimidating but it is the perfect pink, especially for summer. I get compliments on this all the time and people are shocked when I tell them it's by elf and only $3! It's very pigmented so a little goes a long way :)

7. Benefit Hoola Bronzer. I really have yet to find a bronzer that I like as much as this one. It's matte and very natural looking. Not harsh at all. It's my go-to for sure. 

8. NYX Blotting Powder. This is great, especially if you have oily skin. It's a blotting powder that you can just sweep on to help eliminate any shine. I use it after I put on everything else to help keep my face matte during the day.

Although this has been such a mild winter for Utah we are so ready for spring over here and so is my wardrobe. I can only do layers and dark colors for so long before I just want to pull out all of my maxis, tees and sandals. Anyone else get that way about mid-January? Oh how I'm longing for warm summer days. When I received this tote, it just reconfirmed my need for green trees, picnics and a golden (faux) tan ;)

This is Petunia Pickle Bottom's new Downtown Tote and it will definitely be making many park trips with us this summer as it is so big, has tons of pockets and is water repellent. A must with a toddler, right mamas? 

I know it's only January, but do you have any fun summer trips planned? 
Where is your favorite vacation spot? Josh and I are still saving and hopefully will be booking a graduation family vacation soon! Suggestions are definitely welcome needed :)


2015



And yet another semester starts. This time with a broken down car, gloomy grey days and a countdown until spring break. I'm not complaining. I mean sure sharing one car is kind of the pits, but I've been trying to stay inside with Copeland as much as possible anyway as we have yet to get sick (knock on wood). At least we have one car that has been great at saving our butts in times like these and so we will share and be grateful. 

Josh and I will celebrate our 6th anniversary this year. Where has the time gone? We are so looking forward to this year. It has been long awaited. The year of graduation. I can't believe this is Josh's last semester. His final one! (except that one tiny little class during the summer, but I'm just going to pretend that doesn't exist.) He will be walking in May! I can't get over it. I am so proud of him. So extremely proud that he is almost there. All the hard work, money saved and spent on tuition, living off frozen burritos and cup a' soup most nights, hours cooped up studying, 45 minute long train rides to 30 minute bus transfers, classes that last until 10 pm, it will all be worth it in just a few short months. Well done b'ff. 

And you just know that my little list making, OCD self has been all over planning our Josh's graduation vacation. As much as we love going on big family vacations, I can't even remember the last time Josh and I went on a vacation alone. Actually, yes I do it was in 2010!! I would say we are long overdue for a trip for two three. Of course this time will include one small little dude, but he's totally cool and fun so we can't wait to share with him our all time favorite vacation spot! 

Even though it has been a pretty mild winter (as in hardly any snow), we are so ready for spring. After Christmas comes and goes I sort of get super antsy for the warmth. My body lives for the dry summer days. I'm definitely not cut out for this cold Utah weather. 

We think this is the year of baby #2! I'm so nervous to be pregnant again. I had a horrible pregnancy with Copeland so that scares me but it just sort of feels right. Well it will feel even more right in a few months from now when we will actually start trying ;) Maybe. Copeland needs a little buddy. He adores other kids so much! 

Speaking of Copeland, that kid keeps me on my toes! Man he's one cute little cookie. He is so unbelievably happy like 95% of the time or just whenever he has had his daily nap. Something I always want to remember is how cute he is when it's nap time or bed time. He will run down the hall as fast as his little legs will go, waddle his way into his room, try so so hard to climb up onto the rocking chair, get all positioned and comfy and then point up at his books and say "eh, EH!". I just can't handle the cuteness that is Copeland Cruz. He eats so much. Like SO MUCH you guys. Tuna with pickles is his favorite, but pretty much any food is his favorite. He's still obsessed with balls (there's literally 10 within a square yard of me) and could show me his jump shot all day long. He loves to dance, clap, randomly have conversations with himself and he will tackle pretty much anything that looks like a big fluffy pillow. He also does this thing with his hand where he'll point up his index finger and wave it really fast in a zig zag in front of him whenever I tell him no or ask him what he's doing as if he were to say "not uh, mommy" Oh my word, it kills me! 

Another year has gone and it wasn't long enough. We had a lot of happiness and a lot of sadness in 2014. There were so many ups and downs with our families. There wasn't enough time to make every happy memory last but 2015, we're coming for you and we can't wait!

About Us. Hi! My name is Natalie Jensen. When I became pregnant I was beyond excited and couldn’t wait to carry this little baby in my belly. I figured I would gain what the doctors told me, the typical weight gain of 25-30 lbs. As the weeks and months went by and the morning sickness stuck around, the weight kept piling on. After giving birth to my son I had gained over 60 lbs. At first I was so consumed with being a new mom that I didn’t notice the extra weight. I would work out here and there in the beginning, but it wasn’t until around 5 months postpartum and I was still only able to fit into my maternity jeans that I knew the weight might not just fall off with nursing like so many other moms told me. I knew I was going to have to change my eating habits and my non-existent exercise routine to get to where I wanted my body to be. I became dedicated and motivated and by changing my eating habits and exercise regimen, I lost 70 lbs.! I know how difficult losing weight and sticking to a routine and meal plan can be and that is why I wanted to create this e-book! To help and inspire other women and mothers who were like me. Because, let's face it, I had no clue about the first thing to eating right. I was lost. Things I thought were healthy turned out not to be so great.
