I totally extended mine from six to eight and still battled with whether or not that was enough time and sincerely wish I'd taken 12! Glad you're spending quiality time with you little munchkin! Happy 2 Months, little Copeland!
Wow, do you normally go back to work after just 2 or 3 months in the US? Here in Denmark where I live, everyone are entitled to 6 months by law - most mothers receive their normal salary in this period. After that period the government offers 6 months of additional leave with benefits - this period can be shared by the mom and dad. I don't know anyone who went back to work before the baby was 8 months, and 10 - 12 months are the normal choice.Furthermore, you normally go start your maternity leave 8 weeks before your due date.Hooray for living in Denmark :-) I feel a bid sad for you. 2 months is just too soon.Copeland is adorable!
Where is your rocker/glider from? I'm looking for one and have yet to find one I love yet!
Wow! That's amazing! America is one of the worst countries for maternity leave. We only get 6 weeks paid and up to 12 of protected leave. Anymore time requests and our jobs may not still be available when we go back. It's ridiculous! Especially when you're nursing and my husband had to go back to the very next day so that we could pay our bills. Ugh... And yes 2 months is wayyyy too soon!
It's a hard decision. As much as I love working, with nursing and everything it just seems too soon but thank you mama!
It's from a store called Buy But Baby. I believe it's called the Serenity Rocker/Glider. It swivels as well! I love and it's really comfy :) also it was the cheapest I could find for the style that it is
Aww happy 2 months! Maternity leave in the US is terrible :(. I'm not due until February but I am already dreading having to go back after 3 months :/. It's not enough!!
He is so cute!! Getting so big!! I would love to help watch him if you do go back to work!!! For reals, I would LOVE it!!! :)
Going back 2 work when the baby is only 3 months must be so terrible! I can't even imagine... In norway we have a really good system. U can choose between 10 months maternity leave with 100 % salary, or 12 months with 80% salary. So after reading ur post i realised how lucky we truly are.
I had no idea America is so harsh when it comes to Mat Leave! In the UK Maternity Leave is 52 weeks. It’s made up of 26 weeks of Ordinary Maternity Leave 26 weeks of Additional Maternity Leave. The earliest leave can start is 11 weeks before the expected week of childbirth. Paternity leave is either 1 or 2 weeks. How are childcare costs for you? Over here they are extortionate!
I know it really is crazy they expect mothers to return to work after just 6 weeks! And to get an extension, you have to have a medical reason and note from your doctor. Thank goodness I was able to get one for nursing! But healthcare costs in general are pretty expensive. If I were to get healthcare through my company, I would maybe come home with only $200 each month after paying for health insurance.
