I still can't believe I'm a mom to my sweet little guy!
It has been the most amazing experience so far.
The first few nights were definitely testing, but it got so much better after that :)
These very few things made life so much easier for me as new mommy!
I actually used this for about a week before I had Copeland.
And then every time after I nursed him I would put this on.
I used half the tube before even leaving the hospital, but it was a life savor!
It had the best reviews compared to Lansinoh lanolin.
It goes on so smoothly and is not sticky at all!
I have gotten so many compliments on this grey houndstooth swaddle!
The pattern is so cute and the soft organic cotton is so light
and perfect for swaddling Cope in.
I think he loves it just as much too :)
Baby boy didn't really like the paci from the hospital.
I had read many reviews for these saying how great they are
and they really are!!!
They've been a life savor as well, he loves them, especially during diaper changes :)
Okay my friend told me about this so I had to buy it .just in case.
Well I didn't use it until my milk started coming in.
On day 3 my milk came and it just kept coming until the night of day 4!
It was pretty painful and made it difficult for the little guy to latch on.
This shield helps it so baby can latch and it makes all the difference to me as well!
Nursing has been so easy with this and it kinda makes it a bit less painful!
So those are the items I definitely was happy to have when Copeland arrived.
Copeland Cruz Jensen graced us with his presence on Friday August 23, 2013!
He's here! And I can hardly believe it's real.
He is perfect and just amazes his daddy and I :)
Copelands Birth Story:
On Wednesday August 21 I had my 41 week appointment and I told them I really didn't want to be induced. My doctor told me she would let me go up until 42 weeks, but I felt like if I just gave him until the weekend that he would come, so we set my induction date for Monday August 26. Then we changed our minds and scheduled it for Friday August 23 after talking more about certain complications that can occur later on in pregnancy. My doctor did strip my membranes though and I was certain he would come by the end of the night!
Well Wednesday night came and went and it was Thursday. The hospital called me about 4:00 pm and wanted me to come in at 5pm. I changed the time to come in at 7:00 pm to start the induction instead.
I was so nervous the hours leading up to going to the hospital. This was not what I wanted, but I prayed and felt pretty good.
When we got to the hospital I was so nervous! Honestly I could barely speak when the nurse asked me basic questions. I did however have the most AMAZING nurse who made me feel so comfortable! She explained everything that she was doing and what was going to happen.
She checked me and saw that I was almost dilated to a 3 and 85% effaced. She stripped my membranes, told me to go home and that I was almost there. She thought he would come without the help of anything. I was scheduled to come back at 5 AM if nothing else had happened.
We got home around 10 pm, went straight to bed and around 2 am I woke up to find that my water had broken!!! I was so happy! SO Happy! The contractions started out slowly, I went back to bed until 4, got up and got ready to go! :)
We got to the hospital at 5 am, was checked and was at a 3. I labored until about 7:30-8 am with the help of Josh helping me to count through my contractions and just breath. I finally decided to get an epidural.
This terrified me, I didn't know if I'd rather deal with the pain of the contractions or the pain of the epidural. After a major anxiety attack, I was able to calm down with the help of my husband and got the epidural. I felt NOTHING. Literally, I had to ask the doctor if he was done. It was incredible!
I then was given a low dose of Pitocin and labored until about 3:00 pm.
When the nurse came in I was ready to push, Cope's head was right there!
I pushed once, because the nurse thought I might have to push for a while but nope! He was ready to enter the world!
The nurse called the doctor (who was at another hospital) and he barely got there just in time, Copeland was coming, I pushed one more time with the nurse and the doctor ran in, had me do a slow push and out came baby Copeland!
It was amazing! I was in such shock from it all and I couldn't really comprehend what just happened. It happened so fast!
From then they took Cope, cleaned him up a bit and we did skin to skin :)
As soon as they set him on me, I was overwhelmed. I just cried and cried and kissed him and my husband.
The whole Labor & Delivery was such an amazing experience!!!
I was so nervous and scared throughout my pregnancy, but it went perfectly.
God listened to my prayers and answered them with a perfect little boy :)
Okay here's some pictures of the day :)
Our little Guy :)
Our First Family Picture :)
Napping before having to Push!
We are so happy and so in love!
:) :) :)
Well I'm STILL pregnant and pretty much feel like he's NEVER gonna come out.
I'm dreading being induced. It's something I really don't want to happen.
I'm pushing out my induction date for this weekend instead of
this Thursday, just to give the little guy a couple more days
to maybe want to come out by himself.
Please come out by yourself!
I've read and re-read all the statistics and averages for women going into labor.
The average is 41 weeks and 1 day.
Only 2-3% go into week 42.
I've also been reading almost everyday about the impending signs of labor.
And with every little cramp I feel, I pray another one will come on
Look how excited my husband is!
We just want him here :)
I feel like everyday is going to be the day.
And with every day that passes, I get more and more discouraged.
I know no matter how he gets here, I'll be overwhelmed with
happiness and love, but I would just love for him to come naturally.
Life just doesn't always work out the way we want though, right?
The other day, the husband and I just decided to relax
and not think about it anymore.
We lounged around and Josh pulled out his 12 string guitar.
It was so nice and relaxing.
I'm really trying my hardest to rest and get as much sleep as possible.
But sleep has been pretty much impossible so lounging has become the next best thing.
Alright, let's hope my next post is all about our baby boy!
for real this time.
I thought today would be a great day for some more maternity pictures!
I mean with my big, almost 40 week belly, why not? :)
We headed up to the mountains and got a few shots in before dark!
I cannot believe how big my belly is!!!
I cannot believe how big my belly is!!!
Alright, now lets get this baby out!
Well I will officially be 40 weeks tomorrow
& I'm still pregnant.
Still having immense back pain, sore feet, annoying, stretching skin
and my belly button is sticking out so far I think it really might pop! ;)
The anticipation is killing me and it just is ramping up my fear of this whole thing!
I mean I could go into labor any day, hour, minute or second or I could go into
labor 2 weeks from now. It's terrifying, simply because I'm no longer in control and
I have extremely bad control issues with myself.
I'm dreading possibly being induced and maybe that's the reason I'm not going into labor?
I guess I will try to relax and get a ton of rest and wait.
as patiently as I can ;)
I LOVE Aden + Anais swaddle blankets!
I'm so excited to swaddle this little boy in them :)
But I really wanted to have a thicker blanket for winter time
so I made this comfy cozy warm blanket, using 2 swaddles and some organic cotton fabric :)
It's thick, warm and so soft + the cute designs of Aden+Anais make this blanket so adorable!!!
What you need:
2 Aden + Anais Swaddle Blankets
1 1/4 Yards of Comfy Organic Cotton
Satin Blanket Ribbon
Lay out one of the swaddle blankets right side up
onto the organic cotton fabric.
(The organic cotton adds the comfy soft warmth)
Cut off excess fabric.
Note: the seams do not need to be perfect, they will be hidden
Next, roll out your blanket ribbon the length of one side and cut it, leaving about 1 inch on each side.
Then place the ribbon on top of the organic cotton side and place your 2nd swaddle blanket on top.
After you pin it, it will look something like this:
So you will have the blanket ribbon inbetween both swaddle blankets
Pin and sew. One side at a time.
Make sure to stop your seam about an inch from the corner so you can make your corners come together.
So now you will open the corner ribbon up, like a filet and fold in the corners to the center.
Then fold the ribbon back and pin to keep it like that,
Do the same to the next side of blanket ribbon
You will then overlap the two pieces, pin and sew.
Repeat the steps for the blanket ribbon until all sides are done and that's it!
But remember to pin and sew one side at a time!
And pin about every inch.
The fabric with both the swaddles and the cotton are extremely stretchy
so it just makes it easier to have pins closer together.
I'm so excited to announce the winner of the giveaway tomorrow!
But for now, I thought I'd share my doctor appointment news!
39 weeks and 2 days
I went in on Friday afternoon and she said I was 1 cm dilated and about 70% effaced!
I almost cried I was so happy.
It may not mean a whole lot and doesn't really mean
I'm gonna go into labor right now, but it's progress.
My body is working hard at getting this little boy into our arms and that made me incredibly happy :)
I just hope he comes naturally and soon!
If he doesn't come by the 21st, they will induce me on the 22nd
and I really want to try and avoid being induced.
So send labor vibes my way!! ;)
I'm dying over my niece and her friend!
They are the cutest little friends :)
Had so much fun with these two today & how cute are their rompers??

A busy week and the countdown is on!
I'm nearly 39 weeks and everyday it gets harder and harder to keep waiting!
At my appointment on Thursday we found out that baby
has officially dropped but that I am still "high and tight"
I finally have all of little dudes clothes washed and put away.
I never thought little boy stuff could be so cute and fun to buy!
I just finished putting away all of his fun little toys too and had to share
this picture of this adorable quiet book my sister made for him!
Inside it has a picture of all the family members and their names.
It's seriously the cutest thing I've ever seen!!!
Our house is also torn apart at the moment because we are finally
installing new flooring in our kitchen and laundry room!
I can't believe we're doing this right now haha.
We are crazy.
Hopefully the next time I blog I will have a baby boy to show you!!!
